Learning Outcomes

Listening and Speaking

At English 1, students learn in a fully English-speaking environment. Using research-based communicative and behavioral learning methods, our teachers create engaging, low-stress classrooms that lower students’ affective filter and deliver enhanced learning outcomes. We use the lexical approach to teach language in context and in full sentences, helping students communicate naturally without needing to memorise grammar rules.

Students develop early reading skills through phonics — learning to decode and blend sounds to recognise letters, words, and numbers independently. Phonics also unlocks hundreds of new words students can read at a glance, improving both reading fluency and spelling as they progress.

Writing skills are developed alongside phonics instruction through creative activities that support fine motor skills. Students learn to form letters accurately and, as they gain control and familiarity with sentence patterns, they are able to write short sentences independently.
